This super cute and homey bakery was such a great find. Kim the owner came up to us and offered us wifi, additional treats and anything else we needed. He offered additional advice and recommendations in Costa Rica and was great to converse with. Everything is local and organic and the owner makes sure everything is clean and supports local businesses/ individual mom and pop businesses. Gem find in Costa Rica🇨🇷❣️
Very cute bakery! Don’t pass up this opportunity for delicious pastries and coffee. Their giant danish cinnamon roll with yellow custard will feed 2-3people, it’s delicious. The strawberry danish was also perfection. 10/10
I had this place almost every morning I stayed in Bejuco. A gem of a pastry shop/cafe. The cinnamon rolls were to die for! Friendly service and a large menu. Lots of fresh breads and pastries baked daily! Can’t miss this one.
This place understands portion size, balance, and comfort food done properly. The club sandwich is stacked the way it should be: real turkey, crispy bacon (not limp, not burnt), fresh lettuce and tomato, and bread that’s soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together. Nothing soggy, nothing sliding apart. It’s simple, but executed right — which is harder than people think. The burger is solid and satisfying. Juicy patty, melted cheese, fresh greens, and a bun that’s actually toasted (thank you). No gimmicks, no overcomplication — just a well-built burger that tastes like someone in the kitchen actually cares. Now let’s talk about the potato wedges because they deserve it. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, seasoned properly. These aren’t an afterthought — they’re good enough to steal focus from the mains. And bonus points for the coffee: smooth, not bitter, and clearly chosen with intention — exactly what you want sitting in Monteverde. Bottom line: Valhalla Danish Cafe & Bakery delivers hearty, comforting food done correctly. Big portions, quality ingredients, no shortcuts. If you’re hungry and want something that actually hits the spot instead of looking pretty for Instagram, this place earns its seat at the table.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Interestingly I found this beautiful Danish Bakery located in Costa Rica on the pacific coast between Manuel Antonio and Jaco in the cutest little community of Bejuco. It’s easy to find on the Panamerican highway in a center called Town Center. Its atmosphere is very unique and certainly brings you a little touch of Demark in tropical Central America! The service was really good compared to other places I’ve been to, the food excellent and you can tell prepared with much love and care. The burger was one of the best burgers I’ve eaten in this coastal area! As you can see The Valhalla breakfast featuring Serrano wrapped melon, ( bit of Italian in there but yum!) then Yogurt Granola bowl featuring Greek yogurt from the local Tulin Dairy farm right up the road! So I encourage you if you’re visiting Costa Rica 🇨🇷 definitely stop and enjoy a great cup of coffee, eat and buy some of the products! It’s excellent⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
