Reviews
On our last night in Puerto Viejo, we chose this restaurant because it caught our eye due to the sheer number of reviews and their consistently high ratings. It was indeed impeccable - from the service to the food. The calamari was crispy and the dip was fantastic. The mussels were well-seasoned. The lobster tail was excellent and the meat was cooked just right. The risotto was by far one of the best we’ve ever had. We’d like to give the kitchen a big shout-out here. The prices are on the high side, but when you consider the whole experience, they’re still within reason.
Visited Soca for dinner. It was without a doubt the best restaurant I tried in puerto viejo. Started with a bottle of sparkling Santa Margarita Rose which was only $50 also got the calamari tempura as appetizer. For main dish got the Surf and turf (Lobster and meat 🥩) the food was great, the place beautiful. The service was quite excellent and they were very quick. They were very polite. Music was nice (soft Afro-house) very elegan te restaurant. Will go back. Lobster Rissotto was illegal. Had a great time here. It’s reasonable expensive but extremely worth it!
I visit Puerto Viejo yearly since 2019 and I’m sad I haven’t visited sooner! Firstly, This year I’m traveling with my service dog and I appreciated him being welcome. Second but certainly not least, I fell in love with the fast headset communication between staff, the private secluded table under the stars (next to a meditation still water feature), and of course the delicious Latin American cuisine. I haven’t experienced service and atmosphere like this in a long time, especially in Costa Rica on a main strip. The drinks and food were scrumptious; margarita, mojito, the octopus and vegetable entrada and quinoa with sautéed vegetables. Quickly delivered to the table hot and savory. I’m so excited to recommend this place I could barely wait to get home to right this review :) P.S. top notch service was provided to me and when the kitchen got busy I witnessed the boss step in and crank out the orders on expo, MUY RAPIDO Y MUY HERMOSA Restaurante Señor, con gusto, Gracias!
We have gone by this restaurant many times and finally got to try it and it did not disappoint! The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. Our server Kevin was fantastic and since we were there celebrating my mom’s birthday he organized all the staff to come sing happy birthday and brought us dessert. We had the tomahawk steak which was cooked to perfection and the table side chimichurri sauce was a unique touch. Overall great experience!
Lovely setting and good service. Had 2 cocktails - were good but not great (Mezcalita and Margarita Roso) Tuna tartare was very good Surf and turf - steak was a bit chewy, ordered side of vegetables most of which were undercooked. Would still go again though, lobster with garlic butter was excellent
