I came here to have lunch and to escape the rain for a bit. The service was very friendly, which immediately made the visit pleasant. I ordered the Caribbean coconut calamari and a mango–passion fruit smoothie. Compared to other restaurants, the prices were on the higher side. However, the smoothie was very large, absolutely delicious, and definitely worth the money — I can highly recommend it. The food itself was good, but I expected a bit more. Unfortunately, the coconut sauce had already curdled, with the white part separating from the fat. I’m not very picky, but this affected both the texture and the overall experience, and it didn’t really impress me. That said, I’ve never had truly authentic Caribbean food before, so I can’t say whether this is exactly how the dish is meant to taste. Overall, a nice place with friendly service and an excellent smoothie, but the main dish didn’t quite blow me away
A simple restaurant on the main street and near the Tortuguero pier. We ordered nachos and a burger with sides. Both tasted good. The staff was friendly but very busy, as a large group was just eating in the restaurant. We therefore had to wait a while for our food. But overall, a good choice in Tortuguero.
