Was looking for more of a local spot. Food was very delicious and the watermelon smoothie was extremely fresh. They gave us a complimentary appetizer which was really nice. TVs and music created great vibes! Would definitely recommend.
The food was delicious, homemade, and authentic. Pastor tacos were on point with lots of salsa. Hector is the owner and gave us free soup and chiliguaro shots. The vibe is awesome and chill but the gas station is nearby. This is convenient but results in some gas fumes. Kids Mac n cheese was homemade, large, and a crowd pleaser.
If you’re in Jacó, do not skip this spot. We stumbled into Cantina El Zarape and it ended up being one of the best meals of our whole Costa Rica trip. This place is run by a husband and wife team, and you can feel it the second you walk in. The hospitality was incredible from start to finish, genuinely some of the warmest customer service we’ve experienced anywhere. They made us feel like family, not just customers passing through. The food itself is next level. Everything is made from scratch, including the salsas, and as certified condiment people, we tried every single one on the table. Not one miss. You can taste the care that goes into every dish here; nothing tastes like it came out of a bottle or a shortcut. If you want authentic, homemade Mexican food served with real heart by people who clearly love what they do, go find this husband and wife duo. They deserve every bit of recognition. We’ll be back next time we’re in Jacó.
The food was excellent and the service by Hector was very friendly and nice. Probably the best service so far!!We ordered the wings, tacos, and nachos!! Everything was delicious
