San Isidro de el General is the largest city in the southern region of Costa Rica and is known for its farming and ranching history. The Agriculture Festival is a weekend long event where locals come to town in their best dress to celebrate and see what vegetables their friends, family and competition have grown in their gardens and how large the livestock they have raised. Characterized by cattle drives through the town square, cowboys on horseback, live music, delightful food and party vibe, the Agriculture Festival is a family friendly event that will wow children and keep the parents busy having fun.
Kids will definitely enjoy the Agriculture Festival. Farmers set up petting zoos, where children can play with baby cows, horses, and other domesticated farm animals.
