Ok my only problem with this place- server was absolutely lovely- drinks and fish were good, but really, should one medium small snapper- my son and I split it- 2 mojitos and a virgin Pina colada, cost 61 dollars at a hostel?!!! I’ve been coming to costa for 21 years, and this is just as expensive as Miami now. No different. Sad.
I fear the five star reviews are from people who left a review in exchange for a free shot... We were really excited to eat here and this was our worst meal in Costa Rica (and not the cheapest either). Snapper was extremely dry, no dressing on the side salad, beans and rice were dry, plantain was dry, no sauce of any kind on that dish. Asked for hot sauce to try to rescue it and even the hot sauce was bad (vinegar + "spicy", also the most uninspiring hot sauce we've had in the country so far). Plantain gnocchi was a really cool idea we were excited to try but the sauce was uninspiring (just a ton of butter) and the gnocchi were mush. Service was also slow despite nobody being there. Physical restaurant itself had a nice ambiance and the server was totally nice and friendly but the food was just not good.
