Mirador y Restaurante Donde Andrés

Disappointed. This restaurant was just up the road from our Airbnb so thought we would give it a try. View- outstanding. Host - very friendly and welcoming. Food - expensive and not good quality. Limited menu, which is fine. Simple local food also fine. But quality and quantity not good. We had the pork belly, one gin and ginger ale (strange but ok), one small beer. 20,000 colones. Literally about 10 pieces of bite size pork belly between us, obviously heated up, not freshly cooked, a few re-heated new potatoes, a bit of plantain (I think) and a small bowl of crisps. We left hungry! Shame. Lovely man who runs it, but sorry, we felt ripped off.
We absolutely loved this place and the owner. He was incredibly welcoming and took the time to chat with us about his life, politics, and even gave us great advice on what else to see and do in Costa Rica. Those conversations really added something special to our experience and made us feel like more than just customers. The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, and the views were absolutely stunning — the perfect setting to enjoy a meal. We would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, great company, and an unforgettable atmosphere!
Absolutely adorable little restaurant with the friendliest owner! He recommended a traditional Costa Rican pork stew made with all the bits that we often discard in the US. And it was delicious! I only wish I was hungrier. The views can't be beat. Do yourself a favor and go here. And eat whatever they recommend!
