We had a wonderful stay here at Villa San Ignacio. The property was beautiful with walking trails to discover all of the wildlife. Clean pool, clean and comfortable rooms, and wonderful hospitality. I would definitely recommend staying here.
A very well considered independent hotel with friendly staff set in grounds that have been carefully planned and delight. Yes, the rooms are basic but impeccably clean. The beds and pillows are comfortable, and the air conditioning works very well. Only hand soap and liquid soap are provided so recommend you bring your own shampoo & conditioner. The site has gated access so you feel safe and well-contained. The restaurant has a good breakfast menu (typico and torta both recommended) and the dinner menu is of a high standard. There are very pleasant walking trails, a clean well-maintained pool, and various indoor seating areas. Most visitors likely use this hotel as a starting or ending point for their visit to Costa Rica due to its proximity to SJO Airport. We stayed two nights and very much enjoyed our time. Highly recommend.
What a fantastic place!! We will definitely return here if we go back to CR, it's a great landing zone for arrival/departures and the airport is not too far away either. The breakfast is so good. Christopher and the team were very attentive and friendly. We loved the pool area, the gardens and the bird life. The rooms are lovely and ample parking. Gated/security staff need a shout out too - they were really friendly and helpful! You definitely need a car in this area.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would happily return. The pool area was clean and relaxing, plenty of seating. The restaurant served delicious meals and drinks for breakfast and dinner. The game room added a fun touch for both kids and adults to escape the heat of the sun. There are an abundance of hiking trails winding through the trees, with many birds to see. The rooms were clean, and the bathrooms were stocked with all the essentials. This gated hotel has plenty of parking. The hotel is conveniently located for an easy trek to the airport, or alternatively into the mountains for activities or tours. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!
This hidden gem is all that I expected and more. From the details of the room to the amazing staff that made things an exceptional stay. I booked the room last minute and they were able to accommodate me with no problem. The food is freshly prepared from their own farm to table exprience. The choices for breakfast lunch and dinner are fabulous. They also have a happy hour with the most unique and delicious choice of drinks. I travel to and from Costa Rica regularly and have found a peaceful place that is a wonderful accommodation following my travel before and after my 3 hour travel to and from Lake Arenal which in itself is a slice of heaven.
