Absolutely everything was wonderful!! So relaxing! Excellent service from the start with Eric picking us up in town and taking us down a gorgeous beach to the hotel! Friendly efficient service at the bar then she brought drinks to the pool. Pool was so quiet, clean and relaxing! Dinner was so great, love the hotel food package! Rooms are in a jungle setting but on the beach, we could hear the waves all night! The spa was open air and you could hear the ocean while having a therapeutic massage, so great! You couldn’t ask for more!!

Traveled with my husband and 11 and 13 year old son and daughter in April 2025 and loved it. We stayed in Coco Joes. The room was perfect for a family of 4. We decided to let the kids have the more spacious downstairs and we took the loft for the amazing ocean view. The sound of the ocean is as if we were sitting directly on the beach because, well, we are! Water is crystal clear. Outdoor shower was so nice with the nicest view of the jungle surrounding our bungalow. Definitely immersed in nature. Mosquito repellant a must! We had no issues with bites wearing repellant. I recommend Natrapel repellant vs Off! on Amazon. Got a few bites while at the beach because we forgot to put it on. A few ants on the wall beside bathroom and inside. We left them alone. Didn't bother us considering where we were located. Spotted a small lizard in the loft and decided to tape up around the windows. Another recommendation since the cracks are pretty big. We came prepared with masking tape. Housekeeping was excellent. Dinner was delicious. Presentation, beautiful, but after a few nights we got a little bored since there's just the one restaurant and some of the dishes seemed to have the same profile; however, we loved it at the same time! :) We enjoyed breakfast and lunch daily and we absolutely loved the smoothies. They do seem to have a pet cat that roams around the guests tables, and we DID NOT like that at all! Our waiter was quick to remove him, but he eventually came back. Other guests did not seem to mind. Take a flashlight after dark even though the paths are lit, it's not nearly enough to see where you're headed or to see the beautiful orange and blue crabs that crawl along the sidewalk. We walked into town for lunch one day for a change of scenery and as an activity with the kids. We all enjoyed it, heat and all! Pretty easy walk. We did the Bioluminescence tour and didn't see what the hype was about. Could've saved our money. We enjoyed Yoga upstairs from the restaurant and were satisfied with what the resort offered so we found no real need for excursions. The kids enjoyed navigating their way across the nearby rocks and exploring the area. Highly recommend exploring. Cocoa Joes offers a secluded section of the beach that makes it feel super exclusive! We actually enjoyed the trip from the airport to the resort. We used ILT Costa Rica for our transfer. 110% satisfied with them. We saw monkeys and enjoyed the sights and sounds both at the resort and on our hiking adventures where we watched them swinging in the trees. I'll end it here, though I know I'm leaving a lot out, but there are honestly so many things to mention this review would never end. My kids still talk about this vacation. It was their choice between a jungle adventure or a luxury all inclusive, which we've done before. This was definitely worth the trip! Highly recommend.

This place was a lovely retreat in the wild jungle. It felt remote due to the higher tides while we were there. The best part of this hotel was the staff. From check-in, to tour booking, to meals, every single person we had contact with was amazing! They were quick to be helpful, and kind beyond what was necessary. The second best part this hotel was the food. We had top tier meals for our mixed vegan/carnivore eating family. Every meal felt like a treat. We 100% recommend eating here even if you can’t stay here. The location would be 5 stars if the sand beach was closer. The beach at the property was a rocky beach. We had to walk 25 minutes through a jungle path to get to the full sand beach good for swimming.

We went for our honeymoon. We had an incredible time. Not only is the resort beautiful, nestled in the jungle, it’s right along the beach. So you get best of both! 😍 The cabana was big enough for two people. We had more than enough space. The AC was nice. All the fresh food we ate was incredible. Definitely gave us some inspiration to take back to the states. We will miss fresh juice every meal I can’t say enough good things about the staff, every single staff member we interacted with was kind, heartwarming and eager to make sure you had a wonderful experience! 10/10 would recommend ☺️ * I was very excited to see monkeys, we only saw them a few times but it was so cool 🐒

We had the most wonderful week at Ylang Ylang Beach Resort. The location was perfect with just a short walk into downtown Montezuma. We stayed in a basic beach front room that had everything we needed and came with an amazing view of the beach which was steps away. The food was delicious which we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner daily. We enjoyed a couple of days relaxing by the pool but spent most of our time exploring the nearby beaches and towns. Every staff member was wonderful and made us feel like family. I would highly recommend staying at Ylang Ylang Beach Resort.
