we had an absolutely magical stay at Jardin de los monos. It is truly one of the best boutique hotels we have ever stayed at. The attention to detail is impeccable. Everything you could think of or want, they have addressed. the entire property is spotless and meticulously kept. our suite was newly renovated and incredibly comfortable and clean. beach supplies (chairs, hammock, blanket) were provided for the 1 min walk to the deserted tranquil beach. We spent a night at Casa aba next door as well, and the two are in completely different leagues, it's not even a contest. Letika, Teddy, and Dama are spectacular hosts. the resident sloths and twice daily monkey storm through the compound are so much fun. the area is pure peace and quiet. If you're staying in matapalo, don't hesitate to book here! (the only tiny thing to keep in mind is the room does not have a microwave, TV, or kitchen supplies, but the staff will gladly lend you whatever you need from the kitchen!)

Close to beach. This is a luxury bed and breakfast with beautiful gardens, pool and 2 minute walk to beach. What a bargain and blessing to find this place. The owner and staff are one of a kind-AMAZING! Our fqvorite lodging in our 10 night Costa Rica vacation.

An idyllic and relaxing setting in beautiful grounds, with sloths and monkeys on your doorstep and only a stone's throw from the long, sandy beach, where you can marvel at the beautiful sunsets in the evening. The rooms are comfy and there is a delightful swimming pool from where you can watch the monkeys, birds and butterflies in the trees. Letikka and her staff, Teddy and Dana, were very helpful and kind and we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights stay.

This was our second stay at Jardín de Los Monos in Matapalo, and once again everything was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, everything was tip-top and wonderfully taken care of. We loved starting the day with a delicious breakfast (luckily no gallo pinto 😉 - because you can get that everywhere), and the location is ideal — just a short walk to the beach. As the cherry on top, we were treated to incredible wildlife sightings: monkeys right on the property and even a sloth with her baby! The place is beautifully quiet, surrounded by jungle and filled with soothing natural sounds — truly a place to relax and unwind. Lettika and Teddy, thank you once again for everything. We felt completely at home and can’t wait to come back. See you soon!
