We established Ventana Home in Ojochal because we love this area and feel the Costa Ballena is the jewel of Costa Rica. We not only work and live here full time, but we also invested in Ojochal as well.

We began exploring Costa Rica in 2005, and soon after we were investors here. Over the next two years we liquidated everything in California and moved down here full time in 2007. We opened a furniture import business, did home remodeling, and some property development. Our primary focus is Ojochal and because of our investments here we are very intimate with the properties, owners, turnover, and values.

I also speak at the International Living Conference in San Jose on doing business in Costa Rica. International Living Magazine named the Costa Ballena area one of the top four places to buy real estate in 2010. At the 2010 conference their main focus of Costa Rica was Ojochal.

We were drawn to the Costa Ballena and Osa Region of Costa Rica because of its natural beauty. This has the key elements of Costa Rica. The endless empty beaches, the tropical rainforest and the tropical cloud forest, and all within five miles of the coast line. The land rises from the ocean to a 3,000 foot ridge and allows the explorer many access points to enjoy the beauty, nature and animals. All this and world class fishing and surfing to boot.

This is the only place in the world where Humpback Whales from the North and South Pacific meet, where the Central American Tropical Rain Forest meets the sea in the Osa, where the Scarlet Macaw is deemed healthy and growing in numbers, the largest mangrove forest in Central America, the Gulfe Dulce is one of only four Tropical Fjords, and the Costa Ballena has some of the highest biodiversity in the world. The diving is not the clearest, but sea live is abundant and overwhelming. The Osa and Costa Ballena Region is an embarrassment of natural beauty.
