Description
Start your day with a scenic drive from your pick-up location in Guanacaste to the village of Bijagua, located between 2 volcanoes, where you will do a 45-minute hike to the Rio Celeste waterfall, which gets its color from a natural chemical reaction. The minerals in the volcanic water react with sulphur, giving the striking blue hue of the waterfall.
The trail through the rain forest is in good shape, surrounded by all kinds of trees and plants endemic to the region.
After the hike, you will enjoy a delicious typical lunch prepared with freshly local products to gain back energy for our second hike.
This area is the perfect habitat for 2-toed and 3-toed sloths, which can be seen along this 45-minute hike with a local naturalist guide. This professional carries binoculars and a telescope to find and show you these furry friends.
Once this hike is done, coffee will be offered to you before the ride back to the Guanacaste area.
