Villa Roca Boutique offers amazing views and a wonderfully quiet atmosphere. The service was excellent and highly accommodating. Best of all, everything is incredibly convenient and within a few minutes' walk. Highly recommended!
Great spot, friendly staff at the pool, fabulous views. Our included continental breakfast was great too. It is spread out down a hillside so if you’re in one of the lower rooms, you will have some steps to do. In our opinion, totally worth it for the privacy and the view! Also pool had best pinada (non alcoholic pina colada) I’ve had anywhere with fresh coconut - yum!
Please please please do yourself a favor and do not miss this spot! We were staying down the road, but decided to stop in to see the pool. Man, were we impressed! We ended up purchasing a day pass for the pool, which was $25 a person. However, you also get a $25 voucher for food and drink within the pool, so girl math says that’s free pool access! The Pool had an absolutely incredible view of the jungle and the ocean! We even saw parasailers which prompted us to also go parasailing that afternoon. I also loved that there was some great shade, so there was both pool and chairs in the sun if you wanted to tan, but also in the shade if you wanted to stay cool. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were absolutely incredible, but what really made our stay fantastic was our bartender, Alberto. I cannot tell you enough how awesome Alberto was! He was very kind and funny, and really encompassed the Pura Vida lifestyle that we love so much about Costa Rica. Alberto made us incredible drinks, gave us some great recommendations for parasailing, and even threw out some scores and judged my husband and I synchronize swimming when we were messing around in the pool, ha ha! We had such a great time, and will definitely be back as long as Alberto is around!
We spent five nights here and would definitely come back. The view from any of the rooms is gorgeous, and the staff is very welcoming. As an example, when we checked in, the manager on duty walked us down to our room rather than just pointing the way. Our rate came with a free Continental breakfast, which was served in the open air dining area overlooking the pool as well as the ocean. It is hard to describe how relaxing and pampered one feels eating breakfast in a location like that. They also offer more substantial breakfast options for additional price, and we did that on three of the days. Both the "traditional" (eggs, rice & beans, tortillas) and the "cold parfait" (yougart, granola & fruit) were excellent.
We got the Villa for my birthday midweek in January. The room and the view was super amazing. The service was poor from start to finish during our two night stay. the Villa did not include breakfast And for two nights cost about $650. There was no help with our luggage which was difficult because there's a steep staircase. Staff Decided to clean the whole pool area late morning which was super inconvenient for anybody who wanted to use the pool area in the late morning. I would have thought that they would have done that much earlier. There was no laundry options and nothing is really close by to get food. Everything closes early so be prepared. There was a tropical storm the second night we stayed And we lost power and the roof leaked into the Villa and onto our items in the dining area. We attempted to tell somebody that night but the gentleman we told did not notify anybody even though he said he was going to. When we were checking out we were trying to follow up on that incident and the front desk staff was unaware. The hotel staff offered $150 compensation via wire transfer but unbeknownst to us there was a transfer fee so we really only got 135 and it took them a month and a half to receive it. The room was really nice and the view was really nice. I don't know what they mean by premium bathroom amenities because it they just seem like every other place that we've been staying at.
