Me and my husband stayed here for a few nights, overall everything was great! The staff was very helpful and super friendly, we got to see multiple monkey, toucans and other wild life. The location made for a great experience, a lot of local walkable beaches as well as restaurant. All though this wasn’t necessarily a place with active nightlife, we still enjoyed ourselves. Definitely recommend.
If you’re allergic to dust, this hotel could be challenging for you. Not Mango Moon’s fault, but the road directly outside is undergoing construction causing a ton of dirt and dust to be ever present. We mainly booked bc of the view and high reviews. The view is outstanding. We watched monkeys frolicking in the early morning and the sunset from our spacious balcony. We stayed for 3 nights in a family ocean view room and found it very spacious for 2 adults. The room was basic and clean. Immediate improvements could be a refresh on towels and bedding - they were very thin and overused - and maybe some starter coffee for the kitchenette. We mainly used the room for sleeping but might’ve enjoyed lounging in it more if it was a bit more updated. We did lounge by the pool, which had the beautiful view. Breakfast each morning hit - fresh fruit, juices, omelets and gallo pinto. Dinner was outstanding - a real treat to have authentic Korean food in Manuel Antonio! If you’re cool with a more basic lodging experience, with a killer view, good food and nature immersion, this is for you!
We were able to book this hotel at short notice on the same day. We were warmly welcomed and especially looked forward to the beautiful view and the nice pool area. At first glance everything looked great, but when you take a closer look, the hotel does not live up to the quality you would expect at this price level. The sun loungers and chairs by the pool were quite worn out and partly broken. During our four-day stay, the tables were not wiped even once, which is why they were very dusty. The bed in the room was rather small (1.20 m), the towels in the bathroom were not completely clean, and the shower mat was very old and frayed. In addition, the mosquito screen on our entrance door was broken, which is why we could not properly get fresh air into the room, otherwise a large number of mosquitoes would have entered, as mosquitoes were very common in this area during our stay. We generally do not have high expectations, and this may sound like complaining at a high level, but the hotel is simply too expensive for what it offers. During our trip we stayed in cheaper accommodations that were noticeably more luxurious and cleaner. On the positive side, we were able to observe a lot of wildlife from the pool and during breakfast: toucans, sloths, monkeys, and birds. The breakfast was tasty, although pancakes were only offered on one morning.
This place is a great find! To be clear, its a healthy walk from playa biesanz but a very short drive! You will see a ton of nature here and will not be disappointed, we had monkeys at breakfast running around and so so so many toucans (see photos). The restaurant was good but a bit pricey, however it was authentic Korean cuisine which was cool to see! It is a bit more intimate than a larger hotel (think B&B) but you have a lot of the amenities of a larger space, and the happy hour is nice! The best part is the view, you simply cant beat it!
All together, the morning buffet breakfast (included with your hotel stay) and the views from the restaurant were excellent. It over looks one of the cove beaches. Very stunning. The buffet starts at 7am and you could see the fishing boats, and even a sail boat one morning⛵️, heading out for the day. No toucans, parrots or monkeys as other reviewers may have mentioned. But after being in CR for a week I think that’s a good thing. Shouldn’t be feeding the wildlife. However, the sounds of the local fauna were prevalent and enjoyable for a morning start. Enjoyed the gallo pinto (rice and beans), scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, pancakes, etc. Very nice display. See pics. Fresh fruit juice also a worthwhile mention. Well done to the staff. 👏 Note. They offered us a fresh cooked to order omlete but only on the first morning.
