Had dinner at Manitos. Some of the best food I have ever eaten! Manito is delightful! I cannot recommend his food enough!
We did not stay here, but had dinner, and I think it was my favorite meal in Costa Rica. We arrived rather late in the evening after the bioluminescence kayak trip at Bahia Rica just up the road. We were offered a choice of protein and our host and abuela did the rest! I had the fish - red snapper - and it was cooked to perfection. It just melted in my mouth. It came with rice and beans, a homemade pico de gallo, and a sort of vegetable omelet with spinach and queso fresco. I had a (very generous) glass of wine and my husband had two beers. The whole bill came to a little more than $50. Others have complained about the price, but for the quality and quantity of the food it seemed very reasonable to us. It's a tiny place with a very homey atmosphere. Relax and enjoy!
This place is a very good surprise. The owner of the place is really nice and welcome you with all his family. It really feel like they invite you in their home. We had fresh beer, very big plate of meat/ bean / rice / salad for a good price. Big bonus is wifi and swimming pool. We spent a nice moment there.
