Ideal location, right on the beach. Our balcony faced the ocean (view is obstructed by lush trees but you can see it in spots) and the jungle. Partial ocean views, wildlife, the sound of ocean waves crashing on shore -- it was like being in another world. Squirrel and capuchin monkeys visited every morning. The capuchin even jumped on our balcony. Saw 2 sloth in the trees on the beach right in front of the hotel. Hotel staff and service were tremendous. Maid service was so thorough - the room was spotless every time they finished. Included breakfast was delicious, front desk was so helpful. We took the jetski tour they arranged and it was fantastic. Room was beautiful, balcony is HUGE. The only thing not top-notch was the Wifi. We couldn't do better than a fair signal in our room ever. The TV has a Roku, but the Wifi did limit our ability to use it a couple times. However, the WiFi was accessible at least at a slower speed the whole time, so you will be okay if you're not getting a Costa Rica eSim. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Beach chair and umbrella rental is now $10/day for hotel guests. This is about half what you'd pay if not staying at the hotel. They're very responsive through WhatsApp and proactive in communication prior to your stay. The location and staff make this one a true gem.
This place is a gem in Manuel Antonio. It is situated on a quiet part of the beach and you can't find anything with closer proximity to the shoreline. You can watch the sunset on the Pacific from your room. We saw Capybara, White Faced Capuchins, Geckos, Russet-naped Wood-Rail, and other native birds and lizards from the balcony of our room. There is private parking, the rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable with massive balconies and come with beach chairs and canopy service as well as food and bar service from the beach club restaurant. The room service is also provided by the restaurant and includes a complimentary limited daily breakfast menu, as well as an a la cart lunch, dinner, and cocktail menu until 6pm. It is a very small intimate hotel with only 8 rooms. Do not let the lack of website discourage you, you can contact and book with the hotel directly via WhatsApp by entering the phone number provided here. That's how I set up my reservation and it was a better price than offered on popular booking sites. The positives far outweigh any of the negatives I am about to list, and for many they be positives as well. There are gates and hedges which seperate the hotel property from the road and beach which are locked and monitored by security throughout the evening. While many will find this added security a plus, it limited our access to the beach at night which was a downside for me. The only other things I would change is the balcony furniture and bathroom fixtures. The footprint of the balcony is the same as the room and only contains two upright chairs and a small table. It could accommodate loungers, a couch, and larger tables which would be nice and make it it a more usable space. The bathroom showers do not have a hose attachment or a bathtub, and there is no bidet or bidet attachment on the toilets. This makes washing all the fine sand that rolls in the surf of the beach off your body. On thay note, the beach is great for surfing but the waves are constant and quite strong, not suitable for small children. When we tried to swim past the breakpoint we were told by a local lifeguard that we needed to stay in hip depth water, no deeper. Something to note if you are a swimmer. Other than these trivial exceptions we had a wonderful stay and will return to this hotel the next time we visit CR.
