Description
Begin with a relaxed walk through a lush 30-acre rainforest reserve as the late afternoon light filters through the trees. Your certified naturalist guide will help you search the canopy for wild sloths resting or feeding before nightfall. Sightings vary, but guests commonly spot 2 to 3 sloths during the experience. Along the way, you may also see birds, frogs, butterflies, and other wildlife active during the final hours of daylight.
As sunset fades, continue into the nocturnal side of the rainforest with flashlight in hand. This second part of the walk focuses on the forest’s nighttime life, including owls, bats, spiders, snakes, and, when conditions allow, the iconic red-eyed tree frog. Your guide will explain how the ecosystem changes after dark and help you spot wildlife that is often hidden in plain sight.
With its 100 percent level trail, calm pace, and strong wildlife focus, this tour is ideal for families, photographers, and curious travelers looking for a different evening experience in La Fortuna.
