Description
The night walk begins at sunset when the forest shifts into a world of shadows and sounds. With a flashlight and a local guide, you will follow narrow trails lined with towering trees lit by moonlight filtering through the canopy.
The cooler air fills with the sounds of crickets, frogs, and rustling leaves. As you venture deeper, nocturnal creatures emerge. Watch for tiny frogs, busy insects, and possibly a tarantula near its burrow.
You may see sleeping birds in the branches or mammals like armadillos, kinkajous, and sloths moving slowly in search of food. An owl may be spotted perched silently, overseeing the dark forest. Your guide will explain how plants and animals have adapted to nighttime life in this ecosystem.
This experience shows Monteverde’s cloud forest from a different perspective, allowing you to discover the forest’s nocturnal inhabitants and their behaviors.
