Description
Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Manuel Antonio or Quepos and drive 35 minutes to the Esquipulas mountains. The tour begins with birdwatching along a dirt road, spotting species such as Yellow-throated Toucans, Fiery-billed Aracaris, Green Honeycreepers, Golden-naped Woodpeckers, Tanagers, Flycatchers, and Hummingbirds.
Next, you'll explore trails within a private rainforest reserve, a habitat surrounded by pristine forest. Here, look for rare and endemic species including White-crested Coquette, Eye-ringed Flatbill, Band-tailed Barbthroat, King Vulture, and other specialized birds.
At around 8 a.m., enjoy a traditional Costa Rican breakfast next to open bird feeders, perfect for photographing tanagers and euphonias nearby. After the breakfast, your guide will return you to your hotel in Quepos between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
After the tour, you will receive photos and videos taken through a professional Swarovski telescope, along with a detailed list of bird species observed.
