Start with pickup from your accommodation and a short drive to the forest trailhead. Follow an easy path along the clear La Fortuna River, then take a tractor cart uphill to a panoramic viewpoint. Descend via a jungle staircase and cross a high suspension bridge spanning a volcanic canyon.
Encounter the 70-meter La Fortuna waterfall, surrounded by lush vegetation and volcanic rock. You can rest here or swim in the waterfall’s pool.
Return to the viewpoint and proceed to the nearby Maluku Indian village. Relax in their Palenke (main house) while learning about the local culture, art, and history. Enjoy a traditional hot lunch at the village restaurant, with access to a butterfly garden and frog pond to explore before your meal is served.
