Description
After hotel pickup in La Fortuna, take a short drive to the tour departure point. Begin with an easy walk along the clear waters of the La Fortuna River. Next, board a tractor cart that ascends to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the waterfall.
Begin a descent down a jungle staircase toward the waterfall, crossing a high suspension bridge midway. Follow the trail along a large canyon formed by a volcanic eruption, arriving at the base of La Fortuna Waterfall. The waterfall drops 230 feet into a pool surrounded by volcanic rocks and lush vegetation. Visitors may relax near the falls or swim in the pool if they wish.
Return to the viewpoint before walking to the nearby Maluku indigenous village. In their main house (palenke), hear about Maluku culture, art, and history. Afterward, enjoy a warm traditional lunch. Adjacent to the restaurant is a butterfly garden and frog pond open for exploration before the return trip to your hotel, finishing around 1:30 PM.
