Description
The tour begins in front of the National Theatre of Costa Rica at its main entrance. After a brief introduction, you will see the façade of the Legislative Assembly, the Blue Castle, and the old Our Lady of Sion College.
Next, visit the National Park and continue along Paseo de Los Damas to España and Morazán parks, where you will see the famous cork trees. The route crosses in front of the Escuela Metálica before returning to the National Theatre.
From there, the tour proceeds along Central Avenue to the Steinvorth building, finishing at the Central Market of San José. At the market, you'll taste Costa Rica’s oldest and most renowned ice cream and sample local foods.
Throughout the 2.5 to 3-hour walk, the certified bilingual guide shares stories from pre-Columbian, colonial, and contemporary history, highlighting the country’s cultural and environmental richness.
