Description
Begin your day with hotel pickup at 7:00 am from Playa del Coco, Playa Ocotal, Playa Hermosa, Las Catalinas, or the Comunidad area. Travel to the Tempisque River bordering Palo Verde National Park, stopping en route to learn about Costa Rica’s unique blue zone culture.
On board the boat, a bilingual guide will assist you in spotting wildlife such as white-faced and howler monkeys, herons, migratory birds, and crocodiles on the riverbanks or in the water. The rich ecosystem also hosts iguanas, basilisks, and over one hundred bird species, including night herons, wood storks, roseate spoonbills, cattle egrets, and great egrets.
The tour continues with a drive through Guanacaste’s sugar cane fields to explore local traditions. Enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch, learn to make corn tortillas, and watch an ancestral pottery demonstration.
This tour is regularly available every Tuesday but can be arranged for other days on request. The experience concludes with drop-off at your original pickup location.
