Hands-On Wildlife Tour and Volunteering Experience in Costa Rica
This activity combines an educational wildlife tour with a hands-on short-term volunteering opportunity in a private reserve, suitable for all ages, especially families with children.
Description
The experience starts with a guided educational tour focused on wildlife conservation and environmental impact led by a bilingual naturalist guide. You will explore the reserve, learning about each animal’s story and the importance of conserving their habitats. The guide will engage you throughout, encouraging a deeper understanding of conservation efforts.
Following the tour, the volunteering component involves preparing specialized animal diets to support proper nutrition and welfare. You will also create enrichment toys designed to stimulate natural behaviors and improve the animals’ daily routine, following a species-specific environmental enrichment schedule. Feeding is conducted only by trained staff, and you will observe this process from a safe distance.
This activity includes a coffee break and lasts up to 2½ hours. It is available Monday to Saturday at 8:30 am and 1:30 pm.
