This place is the best place to truly disconnect. There is no light pollution, no screen distractions, and no noise pollution. The lodge’s location is very remote so I would recommend using their great transportation service. We went on a horseback ride, an all-day hike in the beautiful rainforest to see waterfalls and rappel and took a flight in the gyrocopter (the views are truly breathtaking). The food is traditional and very tasty. The cabins are tidied daily and are very comfortable with great views from the hammock. Fewer and fewer places these days can truly claim to be “eco-lodges” but Selva Bananito has been modeling environmentally friendly practices since their founding 30 years ago. If you don’t mind getting a little dirty to be able to see pristine tropical rainforest, this is a must-see stop on your trip.
