This amazing hotel saved our stay on the Caribbean coast after a terrible night in Cahuita. From start to finish, everything was outstanding. The service was excellent, the decor was beautiful, the hotel was spotless, and the breakfast was fantastic as well. Thank you very much for making our stay so enjoyable!
This hotel is truly something special, with incredible attention to detail. We absolutely loved both the grounds and the rooms; it is a genuinely relaxing retreat and the best hotel we experienced during our stay in Costa Rica. Special thanks as well to our two hosts, Andrea and Francisco, who are absolutely lovely and have put so much heart and effort into their hotel. We can wholeheartedly recommend it! Best greetings Nina + Mario
Can’t say enough great things about the location, the rooms, the hospitality, and staff. Francisco and Andy made us feel as though we were family. Love receiving coffee delivered every morning and fresh breakfast included in the room rate. Perfectly situated just outside the bustling downtown area and convenient to the public beaches. Will definitely be back!
It has been years since my last visit to Costa Rica, and though I only stayed one night at La Prometida, it left an indelible mark. The decentralized rooms and 'campus' layout create a wonderful sense of privacy and flow, all nestled within stunning landscaping and lush greenery. There is a palpable sense of polish and attention to detail in every corner of the property. Most importantly, it’s clear the team takes immense pride in their work; they genuinely care about every aspect of the guest experience. Puerto Viejo is a special place, and La Prometida is now my official landing place whenever I return.
We've had a lovely week at this gem. Well maintained with a truly welcoming vibe. A beautifully landscaped oasis that is a joy to return to after riding bikes to Manzanillo or hiking in Parque Nacional Cahuita. Jari & Selva went above and beyond to offer helpful tips and warm, friendly energy. The owners are also very nice. You won't be staying in the heart of Puerto Viejo but off of the beautiful Playa Negra. The location wasn't an issue for us, but be prepared to walk into town (or just take an Uber).
