This is a magical place in the jungle. It is laid back. Service is very friendly but largely untrained in top hospitality. But it does not matter because it is pura vida and everyone is very very kind hearted and friendly. On the resort you will find a very nice pool, wildlife and fresh fruits growing everywhere. We can recommend the hanging bridges tour with Tonny and would like to highlight the service and attendance of Mitch and Abril.
This place is bonkers. It has everything. They were awesome for my 7-year old and there's excellent bird watching throughout the grounds and the hotel is a short drive from a hanging bridge tour and the crocodile bridge. With the renovations and updates they're doing, we probably won't be able to afford this place again. Grateful to have been able to experience it.
Great new hotel in the jungle. It was renovated and,opened a few,months ago. Some work still,ongoing but at the very end of the hotel and no noise. I recommend the suites as some rooms are on the small side. All the staff is professional, very polite and friendly. The buffet breakfast is good with several selections of hot and cold food. The hotel has several tours, majority paid to the surrounding attractions. The hotel is 75 mim from the airport, close to the crocodile bridge and Caraca park.
Fantastic for families with kids/babies! Must like nature. I wish there were more properties that offered the kids/toddler room amenities like this hotel. Staff was incredible. All staff was fantastic although shout out to Tony, Angie and Milagro! Wonderful, wonderful stay!!!
My family and I had a great stay here. Of all the animals we saw on our trip, our favorite was the hotel cat, whom we named Cali. She was absolutely adorable and stayed with us in our room on our last night. We were actually slower to trust her than she was to trust us! I wish I had realized immediately that she was the sweetest cat ever, because I would have let her stay with us the entire time. She never bit or scratched (although she does have sharp nails), and she happily slept on the corner of the bed and even on my chest. Cali loved everything we fed her (shredded chicken, a burger, pretzels, rice, and beans). She has a deformed tail—probably from the wild—and a small cut on her eye, but neither seemed to bother her. We hope to come back and visit, and we will certainly be checking up on her! It looks like the staff takes good care of her, as we occasionally noticed food/water bowls set out. All of the staff were excellent and went above and beyond to make our trip great. They were all extremely nice and accommodating of any requests. They kept the grounds perfect and focused on providing a great experience for us. The hotel itself was recently remodeled and opened as a Marriott in January. The property is really cool: a beautiful compound in the middle of the jungle, yet centrally located and not too far from the main road. If you are a nature lover, this is the place for you. The rooms are also very nice. We had a standard room and an upgraded room, which was its own standalone building with a cozy log cabin feel. Due to the windows, we could certainly hear the wildlife outside (though I imagine you could hear it even without windows!). The overall vibe is exactly what you would expect from a Marriott with the word “jungle” in its name. Breakfast was great and we tried to have it every morning to start the day off right. One downside was the horrendous traffic outside the hotel due to construction on the "Alligator" bridge. Fortunately, they opened two lanes on the bridge the day we left, so hopefully, it stays that way! While we are normally more of a beach family than a "jungle" family, we truly loved this trip. Note for travelers: If you stay here, you likely will need a vehicle. We had one and it allowed us to see a lot of Costa Rica. We did two excursions to Quepos / Manuel Antonio National Park, spent one day in Jaco (ATV and ziplining at Vista Los Sueños Adventure Park), and spent one day at La Fortuna (Arenal Volcano National Park Visitor Center). We also had a spa day and recommend visiting the Villa Caletas Hotel (for the views and spa).
