Our weeklong family vacation at Casa Vista Pacifica was super fun and memorable. The house is perched atop the hill on a huge lot. Maybe the best view lot in town? Clear view of the surf out front and down towards Central and Este. Macaws flying overhead, pineapple and banana growing in the yard, beautiful and immaculately kept landscape. Our kids spent hours in the fun pool and we all enjoyed cooling off there at sunset. The house itself was sparkling clean and met our needs perfectly. Cold A/C, full-sized appliances, strong WiFi, plenty of room for our family of five. The interior pictures don’t do it justice, it feels nicer in person. Steve and Margo were gracious and welcoming hosts, going out of their way to help us in multiple aspects. We had a pretty significant transit delay getting there, but they stayed up late to welcome us and even prepared a fresh plate of chilled sliced mango to welcome us in our late-night arrival. One consideration is the value, this kind of truly unique panoramic ocean view property, with spacious grounds just a short walk to the water, having welcoming and attentive hosts could command a higher nightly rate, but I’m grateful Steve and Margo have chosen to maintain a price that makes it attainable for families like ours. Esterillos has the right mix of natural beauty, a variety of surf breaks walkable and a short drive, great restaurants and welcoming people, proximity to open space and not too much development so you still get some of that old-school Costa Rica feeling. Book it, you’ll be glad you did!
