Villas Lirio

After many days spent in different cabins (without good showers and beds), we decided to book this hotel for one night. And it was perfect! Clean, good shower, pool, breakfast, check out time at noon. We had a good rest there. And another star ⭐️ for the great bartender Dori - she made the most delicious Pina Colada and Mojito we have ever had! And she is a very friendly person! Thank you!
My main takeaway is: all staff is kind and courteous but feels like they are actually annoyed that they have to do stuff for you… I was lied to my face twice about EV charging (maybe one of those lies out of ignorance), our pools towels were taken by someone who was visibly intoxicated in some way in the pool to basically no reaction by the staff… asked for extra water at the restaurant to get a eye rolling and face from the waiter… and small things here and there that made me feel unwelcome.
Like many hotels we visited in Costa Rica they are tired and dark. They need sprucing up. We were in RM106 with our own pool, very nice. Breakfast was very uninspired. Loved the fresh fruit. Costa Rica is known for its coffee. Can't say I had a good cup of coffee ever! All the staff were very helpful and hotel is nicely located for amenities in the town. Real down side for us, was the road down the side off the hotel was used by motorbikes or off road vehicles as a racetrack and at 2100 to 2300 it doesn't give a good impression, especially if you are trying to sleep in preparation for an early start. Shame really, otherwise 4* would have been achievable.
15 mins away from Manual Antonio National Park. Amazing place for the price! Good food, good service and good ambiance. Only negative is the car parking, its a tough spot to park in a narrow road
A comfortable hotel between towns with a convenient location to restaurants and shops. At the top of a hill it is a downhill walk in both directions which means an uphill return. The room was large and comfortable with direct access to the pool. A map is required to find your way between buildings. Not ideal for wheelchairs.
