We just spent a week at Lamangata and are already dreaming about coming back. The boutique feel of the hotel makes it so special - beautiful, thoughtfully designed rooms, an incredibly relaxing atmosphere, just perfect! The food deserves its own shout-out because it was truly exceptional. Every meal was fresh, creative, and honestly better than anything we tried in town. It became one of the highlights of the entire trip! The surf instruction was also fantastic. Huge thank you to Junior, who was such a patient, encouraging, and talented instructor. Whether you’re newer to surfing or looking to improve, you’re in very good hands. If you’re looking for an amazing surf getaway with luxury touches, incredible food, and an intimate boutique vibe, I couldn’t recommend Lamangata enough. We had the best week and can’t wait to return!
Every aspect of our stay far exceeded our expectations. While surfing was the reason we came, The food alone would have been worth the trip. As beginner surfers, We couldn’t have asked for a better instructor in junior, who Is both encouraging and patient, allowing us to meet our set goals within a few days. Video and photo analysis of each outing was super helpful and fun, allowing us to see areas of improvement. The resort itself is thoughtfully designed and beautifully executed. it is perfectly positioned on a hillside above the ocean for a magical sunset every evening. if you are looking for a vacation where every detail is attender to from start to finish, this is the place!

The property itself is stunning, blending modern luxury with Costa Rica’s lush natural beauty. Every single person we interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our stay unforgettable. Whether arranging transportation, recommending local experiences, or delivering a perfectly timed cocktail by the pool, the team operates at a five-star level in every sense. We did surf lessons nearly everyday with an incredible instructor, Junior, who exceeded all expectations in terms of knowledge and coaching. The staff at the resort, specifically Hernan, Kenneth, Tony, and Debbie, made us feel incredible comfortable throughout our stay. The food served daily was exceptional and the highlight of the trip. The luxury experience is elevated without ever feeling pretentious. The amenities are world-class, the grounds are pristine, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between tranquility and indulgence. We spent a week at Lamangata and the entire experience was absolutely amazing. The property is beautiful with breathing views and sunsets. The hotel has so many quiet sitting areas to relax with your morning coffee or enjoy a cocktail by the custom made fire pit. The staff was beyond kind and graciously helpful. Each meal prepared by the chefs was so delicious we looked forward for each dish, especially desert. Our customized itinerary kept us busy with an activity each day and on surf days with Junior was an absolute blast, he's such an amazing instructor. I highly recommend Lamangata and can't wait to return. Pura Vida
My week at Lamangata was nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of — truly some of the best hospitality I’ve ever experienced. The food was incredible every single day. The surfing was so much fun, whether you’re newer to surfing or more experienced, Junior is an amazing coach! He was so knowledgeable, encouraging and made every surf session enjoyable. The rooms and the entire property are stunning: beautifully designed, spotless, and felt luxurious while still relaxed and welcoming. One of the highlights was the group of guests — such a fun, positive vibe that made the experience even more special. Lamangata strikes the perfect balance between relaxation, adventure and fun.
