• Tours are conducted at night to match the nesting patterns of turtles Wearing dark clothing is recommended to minimize disturbance The weather in Tortuguero is very humid tropical; the activity takes place with or without rain as it does not affect the tour. The main season to see turtles in Tortuguero is from July to October, with August and September being the months with the highest nesting activity. However, different species have different nesting seasons. For example, the leatherback turtle can be seen from April to November, while the hawksbill turtle nests from March to October. In November, you can see the green turtle, but the probability is low.
