Description
Our day starts at 8:00 am by driving 25 min from Liberia downtown through the small villages of Colorado and Curubande, making one short stop at a “ Soda “ to taste costa rican coffe, bread and fruits ( Not included ). Once at the park we can use the restrooms and get ready to start our hike of approximately 2 hours through Las Pailas, where we can see one of Costa Rica’s most active volcanoes. Steaming fumaroles, mini-geysers and bubbling volcanic mud pits.We will hike Las Pailas loop trail 2.5 miles (3.5 km) through dry tropical forest to see the best views of the volcano, incredible nature, volcanic activity and wildlife. The park is home to more than 300 bird species, and other animals like armadillos, collared peccaries, iguanas, snakes, white-nosed coatis, and white-faced, howler and spider monkeys. When we finish our hike, we’ll be ready for a refreshing swim in the Oropendula Waterfall. The Oropendula Waterfall spills an impressive 82 feet (25 meters) down to a bright turquoise pool in the picturesque lush canyon of the Rio Blanco (White River). After the waterfall we will go back to Curubande town to have a typical Costa Rican Lunch. Other things to note Please bring: tennis shoes, comfortable clothes, sunblock, insect repellent, water and camera. National Park fee is not included ( $15 ) Sometimes the winter rain can interrupt our visit to the waterfall, this due to safety reasons since the water flow increases and the river brings mud and stones.Includes
