Description

Dive into the heart of Corcovado National Park with a day tour to the Sirena Biological Station, one of the most biodiverse spots on the planet. The adventure kicks off at 5:20 a.m. at the Puerto Jiménez Public Pier, where your certified local guide will personally welcome you. You'll hop on a speedboat with life jackets and cruise across the Golfo Dulce, then dive into the Pacific Ocean on your way to Sirena. You'll be disembarking right on the beach, no dock, so you'll need to wade into the water to reach the shore (sometimes up to your knees). After passing the park rangers' checkpoint, you'll start a guided hike through primary rainforest trails home to the Central American tapir, monkeys (howler, capuchin, spider, and squirrel), scarlet macaws, toucans, sloths, colorful frogs, and more. Your guide will help you understand the forest's signs, sharing info about the ecosystems, the park's history, and its conservation efforts. Around 11:30 a.m., you'll dig into a typical Costa Rican lunch at the station. Then you'll take a short walk back to the beach to hop on the boat and head back to Puerto Jiménez. You're expected to arrive around 2:30 p.m. This experience is perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and travelers who want to go on an authentic expedition to one of the planet's last biodiversity havens. This tour is perfect for those who want to have an authentic experience in Corcovado without staying overnight, with the convenience of returning the same day. We recommend bringing light clothes, hiking shoes, a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a waterproof backpack for your stuff. Don't forget your camera, binoculars, and a big dose of excitement to soak up the natural beauty of this hidden paradise.

Important Information

  • No extra charges, ALL INCLUSIVE. We don't have bathrooms on the boat. There are no docks in Corcovado National Park, so it's essential to wear water shoes to avoid cutting yourself on the rocks when you get off the boat. It's very important that you provide us with your identity documents in advance, as our team needs them to manage the official park entrance tickets. For the Sirena Day Tour, the park administration only allows 120 visitors per day, so spaces are very limited and fill up quickly. We recommend booking well in advance to secure your spot. Our group for the Sirena Day Tour is a maximum of 8 people plus the guide. If we don't have any other participants on your booking date, no problem! We'll do the tour with just 1 person or more.
