Description

On our Tour + Volunteer, you will get the Wildlife Regular Tour plus a short-term volunteering component. During your visit, you will participate in an educational tour focused on conservation and the impact of wildlife in the environment from one of our naturalist tour guides. You will have the opportunity to explore the reserve to know each animal and its story, and why conservation is essential. You will enjoy yourself with our friendly guide, who will engage you and help you think about conservation in a new way. Then, the second part of the activity is volunteering. You will have the opportunity to learn how to prepare the animals’ diet. It is a way to understand the importance of good nutrition in animal welfare. Enrichment allows animals to demonstrate their species-typical behavior, enable them to exercise control or choice over their environment, and enhance their well-being. Enrichment is just as essential to animal welfare as proper nutrition and veterinary care. After preparing all diets, you will help us make enrichment toys that provide a different daily routine for the animals. We have scheduled an itinerary for environmental enrichment activities according to each species. It is important to mention that in the process of feeding animals, only our staff is allowed to do it according to the directions from our Ministry of Environment. However, you will observe from a distance this process, only for the animals assigned on that specific day. Recommended for all ages. Especially great for families with younger children. Includes: Coffee Break. Duration: up to 2 ½ hours. Schedule: Monday to Saturday. 8:30 am & 1:30 pm. Price per person: $60 USD Kids 5 to 9 years old: $35 USD (Previous reservation is required). If you want to go the extra mile, you can check this ”Pack for a Purpose Wishlist”. Important Notes Our wildlife tours are offered in English or Spanish only (However, groups are not mixed, so guides will only speak one language). You need to specify what language of the ones available you need when booking. If you are with someone who speaks a language other than English or Spanish and are able to translate for them, we appreciate that you do so in a manner that does not interrupt the tour for others. To ensure no one gets left behind please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and get extra details. Unfortunately, we cannot wait for anyone as it would delay the tour for the whole group. Thank you for your cooperation! Cancellation policy: cancel 72 hours before your tour for a full refund. After that, it’s non-refundable under any circumstance. All cancellations must be acknowledged by Proyecto Asis.
