Description

Day 1: Arrival and Night Adventure Upon arriving in Tortuguero, begin your wildlife journey with an evening experience that introduces you to the rainforest’s hidden side. Choose one of the following seasonal experiences: Night Walk Tour Explore the rainforest after sunset in search of red-eyed tree frogs, sleeping birds, insects, reptiles, and other nocturnal wildlife that emerge when the jungle comes alive at night. Sea Turtle Nesting Tour (July–October) Witness one of nature’s most extraordinary events as sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs on Tortuguero’s protected beaches. Guided under strict conservation regulations, you’ll learn about the life cycle and protection of these incredible marine reptiles. Day 2: The Complete Tortuguero Experience Early Morning Canoe Tour Start the day when wildlife activity is at its peak. Paddle quietly through Tortuguero’s waterways in a traditional canoe, accessing narrow channels where motorboats cannot go. Possible sightings include howler monkeys, spider monkeys, capuchin monkeys, sloths, toucans, herons, kingfishers, iguanas, and caimans. Rainforest Nature Walk Continue with a guided walk through the tropical rainforest, learning about medicinal plants, animal adaptations, conservation projects, and the fascinating connections that make Tortuguero one of Costa Rica’s richest ecosystems. Twilight Wildlife Walk As the day begins to cool and wildlife becomes active again, enjoy a final guided walk focused on spotting species that emerge during the transition between day and night. This often provides opportunities to observe behaviors rarely seen during standard daytime tours.
