This hotel is out of beaten path and completely isolated. It is the perfect spot for those looking for clamness. Rooms are really nice with very confortable beding and the fire place is great as It gets a bit chilly up there. Nice restaurant with great food. Make sure to do the night walk

We got married here 10 years ago and finally returned with our children to show them just how stunning the place is. We were not disappointed. The chapel was just how we remember it; in impeccable condition. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The wood for the fire wasn’t humid and able to catch on fire quickly. The trails and gardens were super tranquil. The kids absolutely loved the animals (emus, cows, sheep, chickens) and both participated in feeding the cute calf. And of course they loved the movie theatre. The staff is super helpful and tentative. The food is probably the best part…just so tasty and beautiful food infusions. It’s a great place to go to for relaxation, stunning views and to unplug from reality. We loved visiting again, have zero regrets getting married there 10 years ago and we definitely be returning again in the near future.

I spent four nights at Villa Blanca hoping to relax, enjoy some birding, and experience a quieter side of Costa Rica. The property exceeded my expectations from the start. One of my favorite first impressions was being welcomed by hummingbirds everywhere and having the chance to help feed baby calves. What truly made the stay memorable was the people. Every staff member I encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that guests had a great experience. During my visit, I joined both birding and night tours with Alejandro and Jose. Their knowledge of the cloud forest ecosystem was incredible, and they were always willing to help me find wildlife and get the best possible photography opportunities. A highlight of the trip was spotting and photographing a resplendent quetzal, something I had hoped to see for years. That experience alone made my stay unforgettable. I stayed in the Silencio Suite, which was peaceful, comfortable, and surrounded by beautiful rainforest views. The soaking tub overlooking the forest was a standout feature and the perfect way to unwind after a day outdoors. The restaurant was consistently excellent, and I especially enjoyed the cocktails prepared by Angel and Yosue. I also appreciated the opportunity to meet the owner, Zach, who was welcoming and clearly passionate about creating a special experience for guests. Choosing a lodge away from the more crowded tourist areas turned out to be one of the best decisions of my trip. Between the wildlife, the scenery, and the wonderful staff, Villa Blanca has become one of my favorite places I’ve stayed. I would happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a unique cloud forest experience in Costa Rica.

We had a couple of lovely days here. The staff were wonderful. I loved the yoga. Best hour ever. It was fab to see a tarantula which apparently was asked to leave the dining room! Our room was fab - the laundry service is the best and reasonably priced. One evening our main course was not the hotest, but we weren't charged for it, so absolutely no issues with this. The evening nature walk wasn't as good as the morning one but the birds, especially the hummingbirds, were incredible.

The room we stayed at was the presidential suite which was really nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. But the food was not good at all. We had signed up for including the half board in our rate and it was a mistake. The selection is close to nothing if you don’t eat chicken or red meat. The hotel said we could order from their menu and they’d offset it against the half board. But the food just isn’t great. Breakfast was really dire as well. It’s remote - so we had to drive at least 30-45 minutes in bumpy roads to get food. Nice place, but if you’re looking for good food and aren’t a meat eater, this might not be great.
