Absolutely wonderful. The staff were warm and welcoming and knew our names within a few days. Breakfast and food at the pool was great. Hot springs were incredible and the shuttle seemed to run on a constant loop- I don't know how it was always ready and waiting when we needed it. Can't say enough good things about this hotel- it was our favorite that we stayed at in Costa Rica.
We stayed three nights at Tabacon Thermal Resort. Overall, it was a good experience- there was a small gym, the garden was very well maintained and the staff was friendly. The room was very spacious with a big balcony and a garden view. The hot spring was also nice, and there was a shuttle bus departing every five minutes or so. What could have been better is that there were only two restaurants at the property, one of them being at the hot spring part, and without a shuttle service to the town, our lunch and dinner options were pretty limited. The breakfast was ok, not the best but also not terrible. Lastly, the room decoration could have had more “ characters” but the housekeeping service was good and the room was spotlessly clean.
Tabacon is AMAZING and 100% worth it. I've never experienced such a level of service! The hot springs are absolutely perfect, a short walk or 2 minute shuttle ride away. Beds are literally the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. The included buffet breakfast has a wide selection of fruits, pastries, baked goods and savory options - was my favorite breakfast in Costa Rica. The only thing I'd change is to make the room snacks free. Can't wait to go back!
We had an amazing experience at Tabacón with the day pass. The thermal pools are beautifully integrated into the surrounding rainforest, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Everything was very well maintained, and there were plenty of spots to enjoy the hot springs without feeling crowded. Spending the day surrounded by nature, listening to the river, and soaking in the warm mineral waters was truly unforgettable. The facilities are excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the entire experience felt luxurious and well worth it. If you’re visiting La Fortuna and looking for a relaxing escape, Tabacón is definitely a must-visit!
Our stay at Tabacón was absolutely incredible. The service was amazing from start to finish — every staff member was friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. The grounds are beautiful and perfectly maintained, surrounded by nature everywhere you look. The hot springs were the highlight of the trip and easily the best we’ve ever experienced. Relaxing in the thermal rivers and pools felt like paradise. The food was also delicious, with great quality and presentation at every meal. We were also surprised and impressed that they prepare your room for the night each evening, which added such a thoughtful touch to the experience. Yes, it’s an expensive place, but honestly it was completely worth it for the experience, atmosphere, and level of service. A truly unforgettable stay in Costa Rica.
