Great wee spot in Jáco, where it’s very hard to find something less touristy and more craft-like. While we had to wait a bit until our food arrived and a fish wasn’t available for the burger, we still managed to get lovely beef, fresh burger, properly medium rare, with bun that felt like done in-house or at least from local bakery or something. Quite a refreshing thing to get decent food in very cheapish (in terms of quality) place like Jáco, affected by Western bs cultures and mediocre to poor food - not here. Puddle Fish did it right, brought back hope for a decent food, with lovely vibe of live music and amazing kombucha (Costa Rica crafted) and beer 🍺 Can’t fault it. PS. While you’re there don’t forget to head on to short hike to abandoned mansion and Jaco viewpoint from the arches 🔥
Service was incredible. Adrian even helped us plan our tip to the transportation to the pricing. He’s an absolute gem. The mojos and drinks were fantastic as well. Thanks again, and we hope to be back again before we leave!!
Excellent food and drinks. It’s cool seeing the brewery while you wait for your food and the seating is nice. The beer is reasonably priced and refreshing. The prices are a bit more expensive than other places, but the size of them makes up for it. The service was great, but they did take quite a while, even when it was pretty empty. I didn’t mind it myself, as there are other things to do while there and it is a brewery, but keep that in mind. There was a pretty bad smell that was like dog poop and with seeing a dog dish in the place which would be my only main complaint. If they can take care of that and add UK beer battered style fish & chips to their menu then it would be an easy 5 stars.
We love Puddle Fish Brewery near Jaco Beach. The atmosphere is inviting and service is great. The beer is very good but the burgers stole the show. They were amazing! What a great find and we will be back again.
I went to many places on my 3 weeks trip to Costa Rica and I tried tuna many times - nowhere it was good. I’m so glad I didn’t give up and tried it one more time here in PuddleFish Brewery! Good portion of salad with tasty dressing and big portion of blackened tuna seared to perfection. Tasty fresh fish, soft melting meat, just prefect. Thanks to the chef!
